Is it possible to get a passport in less than a week?

See here and here. Assuming you’re talking about a US passport, it looks like 2–3 weeks is the fastest you’ll get it.

I haven’t gone to @bob_‘s link – but for the public if you go to your closest agency with a ticket in hand showing a trip out of the country and your expired passport, you can get a new one issued right then and there. It’s annoying, time consuming, more expensive and you have to do it personally…but it can be done.

Also, if you live in a city like El Paso, Miami, I believe Chicago ( not sure about this one ) and I’m sure some others, you can get it in the same day like I did in El Paso and Miami.

Yes! Get your photos taken and make an appointment at a passport agency .

I applied for my first passport in Boston on a Tuesday or Wednesday for travel that Saturday – and that was so much lead time that they mailed it to me.
