What is the full storyline of the movie Legion?

I watched it today and all I know is that God lost faith in humanity, so he sent angels to wipe us out. I know that Michael was the archangel sent to Earth to kill the baby, but disobeyed his orders, so God sent the other archangel Gabriel to kill him. But who was the baby? Why did they need to kill him?

The angels were commanded by god to wipe out humanity. Prophecy foretold that the baby would be a leader that would save humanity from destruction. Therefore, the angels needed to kill the baby in order to ensure that mankind would be destroyed.

You’re not really told how the child was mankind’s savior. But it almost certainly means that the child would grow up to teach man again the meaning of faith.

In any case, the plot of the movie is more an excuse to give super-powered angels really big guns.

@iamthemob So I’m guessing that maybe the baby was, like, the second coming of Jesus? Cause that’s what it sounds like.
