Where should I go camping in Queensland now?

Asked by desmodus (158points) December 1st, 2010

I am wondering what the best area to go camping in the month of december. The reason I am asking is that because of La Niña there is a lot of rainfall in the eastcoast of Australia.
I have looked along the gold and sunshine coast, but it seems to be bad everywhere.
Is it better in the Cairns region, or will it be way to humid for comfort?
Can I travel inland a bit, or will I be washed away in floods?

Any suggestions?

Depends what your after as the Sunshine coast can offer a temperate climate while still being close to inland regions .. that are less full on with rainfall.
