How can I job shadow my Career Councilor?

Asked by talljasperman (21916points) December 8th, 2010

My Career Counselor said she can help me find people in my small mountain town to Job shadow and I want to pick her is that O.K. or would she be over-protective of her job (seeing that there is only three in the town and turnover is low)? What is job shadowing anyway?

If you are interested in becoming a career councilor, It would not hurt to ask.. she might be willing to even try and set you up with a different career councilor… and its unrealistic to think that you MUST stay in your home town to get a job / eventually she will retire.

Why not? Just ask her.

“Essentially, job shadowing involves spending a period of time with a seasoned expert, observing everything that he or she does that is related to the work that is expected to be accomplished as part of the daily routine of the job.”
