What should I get one of my best friends for her 14th birthday?

Asked by spallybob (57points) January 5th, 2011

She likes cats, bats, all other animals, games, tacos, and art but I’ve already gotten her stuff that deal with what she likes. Does anybody have a clue what all 14 year old girls like? or should i try to paint or draw her something?

I’d say to get her money so that she can get whatever she wants.

Possibly it’s the time for a little adventure, with your parent’s permission, treat her to an afternoon of lunch at her favorite mexican eaterie and then travel to a local museum or art center to observe and appreciate lovely expressions of art, etc. Sometimes, the best remembered gifts are not the ones we always “open”, they’re the ones we share with good friends and specail relatives. Take photos for your keepsake/memories album also!

Take her to Lush. My daughter (age 14) loves that place!

Bats? Haha. How about one of those photo travel mugs, and insert a photo collage of your friends? Or you can submit photos to a website for a poster. Or make a stencil and buy fabric paint and screen her a t-shirt with an inside joke or something.

For my cousins birthday I got her an easel. she loved it and everyday she makes something new. If you already haven’t given her one, that’s what I’d suggest.

I’m 14. I like music, doing my hair, stuff like that. How about getting a decorative basket that she could use to organize the top of her dresser (I’ve seen it done where you put everything else in the basket in such a way that you don’t have to use wrapping paper), and put inside it stuff like a hairbrush, scrunchies, cool hair accessories, and burn a personalized mix of your favorite music artists on a CD.

I’d say bake her something and go to the mall and take pictures! :)

the best solution is buying a gift card for some art shop, empik or something similar. she will go and buy obviously whatever she wants and needs.

What about a hampster or a bunny. Something she’d have to take care of and start to learn what responsibility is all about. Plus, they are cute and fuzzy and she’d get to name it. :) Just an idea :)

@xMissMorganx Getting someone an animal as a present is a horrible idea! Unless she has been doing research and is about to get one, and you surprise her with it, that’s all right. But being caught totally off guard with a whole new responsibility that she just might not have time for is not alright. The poor bunny or hamster wouldn’t get the attention and exercise it needed.
