Can you pack liquid baby formula in checked luggage?

Asked by sfholl (4points) February 11th, 2011

Can I pack ready to feed baby formula in checked luggage (not carry on) on long haul flight (SFO to SIN). Is this legally sound with the airline, and will anything happen to the formula? Will it freeze en route?

the rules are changing every day. Checked luggage is not really the issue, but the stories you hear are about people with carry on luggage.

Call the airline and ask them.

I can’t see why it wouldn’t be ok. It shouldn’t freeze. All my foundation and hair mousse would be frozen if they did not regulate the temp. It is likely it is kept colder than the cabin though. @YARNLADY Is right, you can always call the airline to be sure.

We often pack wine in our check thru luggage. Liquid in your check thru is perfectly ok.
