Can someone identify this cat breed?

Asked by rawrgrr (1568points) February 20th, 2011 from iPhone

Unfortunately I don’t have a picture, but, it was in a cat food commercial (Wiskas I think) and it was a gray cat with dark black spots and lines. In the commercial a man is kissing and talking about going on a picnic with the cat (ahahah). So does anyone know what I’m talking about? Thanks.

This one?

Possibly a bengal (another image), although after looking at the ad, I may change my guess to American shorthair (note the round head/face, more typical of a shorthair).

@syz I think that’s the one! I searched gray Bengal cats and they were almost identical to the one in the ad. Thanks!

(yes that’s the ad ahah)

According to one of the Whiskas video notes, British Shorthair Silver Tabby

I think Bengals are much larger than the one in the commercial and I’d have to agree with @Barnacle Bill. The coat pattern on that cat is a classic tabby.

Yep, definitely an English silver Tabby, just like my youngest queen …. :-/

I would agree with the others ..definately not a Bengal.
Shorthair Silver Tabby is my opinion. :)

It sure is a gorgeous cat. It looks as if those black markings were painted on with masking tape to keep the lines straight!

There’s a cat that looks a lot like that one living next door. Same markings, but brown tabby instead of silver. He’s just gorgeous! His owners call him Cat King Cole, but I just call him Pretty Kitty. Sorry for the washed out photo, I took it with my phone’s camera which has a stupidly long flash.
