What is the best non-composite Little League baseball bat?

Asked by nope (1804points) March 6th, 2011

I’m hoping there are some Little League people out there…if there are, you probably know that Little League International put a moratorium on the use of composite bats, and have approved very few models (so far) for use in play this year. I purchased an approved composite model for my son last month, and today it broke at practice. It will be a while before I can get it replaced under warranty, so was hoping to pick up a regular metal bat (much cheaper) for him for use at practice. Does anyone have an opinion about the best model or models?

Contact your local Little League and ask them, or the National Little League Assn.

Thanks @YARNLADY , I’m actually already an official in my local league, and I know what all the approved models are, including regular bats. I’m just looking for opinions from people on actual models they like for whatever reason.

@nope OK, it’s been a long time since I had a Little Leaguer in the family.

According to the Little League approved bat site, there is very little difference between one brand and another. I could find no “reviews” that indicated otherwise.

Well geez @YARNLADY, I hope whoever it was is still in the family, even if not a Little Leaguer anymore!

There are differences, but really at the end of the day, if a kid is a good hitter, most bats will do fine. I was just looking for an opinion from someone. Thanks for trying, you always go the extra mile. :)
