Has anyone ever been in a class action suit or know what to do?

Asked by marialisa (464points) March 29th, 2011

I have just found out I have bad shingles and bad siding. Both have had class action suits. How do I go about the process of finding out what to do?

Contact the law firm representing the action.

I saw your original question @marialisa. Both of the suits you need to file with have info all over the Net. As @marinelife said, just contact the firms representing each case. They’ll tell you exactly what you need to do to join.

I suggest you search for info on the attorneys representing the customers in this case by using the search terms, “People vs the manufacturer of the bad shingles and siding”.

First find out what type of class aciton lawsuit it would be. This article explains the different types. Once you get an idea, do a quick search to see who might already have a lawsuit going. One issue may be the new diversity jurisdiction laws regarding class action suits. But you can basically just contact a lawyer who is specializing in your type of case to see if there is already a class action suit in the works and what you would need to do to become a part of it. Class action lawyers are looking for as many people to join their suit as possible, so they will welcome informational calls where as regular personal injury lawyers may make you pay just for information.
