Any good tools for copy/paste function on iPhone?

Asked by wildflower (11172points) April 19th, 2008

Have you found any utilities that allows easy copying and pasting on an iPhone? I’m an avid user of copy/paste when on my mac and this is the function I’m missing the most when using the iPhone…...anyone out there found a way to fix this?

We may see an onboard fix in June with iPhone 2.0 software.

Word to the wise!!!: In Clippy (and other similar web apps), the method and technology that is used to transmit and receive the copy/paste for clippy uses an unsecured method for data transmission: http protocol.

The bookmarklets that are created in this web app are sending your sensitive data across an unsecured data connection, so if you are copying sensitive / personal data that data can be intercepted (think passwords, PINs, or other sensitive information) you should think twice about using this type of web app.

Here is a link to a review of another software web app that essentially does the same thing (uses the same method as far as I can tell); I had considered this tech (it is a dream come true in concept), but in practical terms, can be extremely risky to use.

‘Buyer’ beware.

right. I tried both clippy and iCopy, but neither will work with comment boxes like the ones on here….iCopy came closer though :-/
