Stand Alone Firesheep Mac App?

Asked by ctferrarajr (270points) June 2nd, 2011

Is there an app for my Mac that mimics the functionality of firesheep? firesheep does not work on my MacBook for some reason and I would like to give it another try.

There are plenty of ways to hijack an HTTP session. Why do you want to do that?

Well, I recommend you take part in the forum on Eric’s Github site or file a bug. Firesheep is supposed to work with OS X so they need to know about the problem.

@ctferrarajr: And if you are right, then perhaps he can teach you how to spell.

The file you downloaded should be .xpi. XPI files can often be installed by simply dragging and dropping the file onto an open web browser window. Just drag it onto a firefox window and it should install itself. Then go to the View menu → Sidebar and make sure the Firesheep sidebar is checked. Click ‘start capturing’ and you should be good to go!
