Do you ever play headgames with yourself?

Asked by Dutchess_III (46835points) July 5th, 2011

Like, I only work a 4 day work week to begin with, Mon – Thurs. Well, I had yesterday (Monday) off for the 4th. But coming home I kept telling myself that today is only Monday, not Tuesday. I’m hoping Thursday will sneak up on me and give me a pleasant surprise!

Do you do stuff like this?

Headgames are what got me on my treadmill when I was losing weight. I would come home from work and tell myself to just go change clothes, then I could decide if I was really going to get on. Then, I would put on my walking shoes and tell myself I only had to do it for 20 minutes. Once I got on and did it, I would easily get past the 20 minutes. It was the initial games that got me on there though.

Sadly though, those games aren’t working any more. I really need to get back on there!

LOL! That’s how I wash the dishes! I say, “OK. You don’t HAVE to actually WASH the dishes. Just fill the sink up with hot water and soap.” Then, five minutes later, “You don’t have to actually WASH the dishes, just put some of them in there to soak. Really. You’re a grown up and if you don’t wanna wash the dishes, you don’t have to!” But…step by denying step they get washed!

I would try if I had a dick.

Sorry.

I don’t do it on purpose, but some mornings I’ll wake up and think it’s either a work day or a weekend day, when it’s the opposite of whichever one I think it is. It’s either awesome or horrible upon realization of the truth.

LOL every morning I check the weather usually it says 71 so I prepare myself and the dogs for our walk…I step outside…“WTF! That stupid broken lying thermometer…it’s soooo hot, ugh drone, drone. We are not going the long way today” I say to the dogs. Sweat pouring and pouring more droning. Look at the dogs, I say to myself they are enjoying this soo much why can’t I. Ugh walk faster…ok my fibromyalgia is killing me but what way would you like to go I ask the dogs and let them choose at which time they always choose the long way LOL. Damn, I say to myself, the rest of the way I’m hoping the walk ends quick. Then at bedtime I always remind myself to buy a working thermometer…I don’t think this will work so well when the season changes :/ LOL
