How to change the function of a dynamic QR Code?

Asked by DylanMueller (210points) September 13th, 2011

In order to properly promote my business I was looking to make a dynamic QR Code that automatically adds anyone who scans it to an address book, it takes their contact information and sorts it for me. Making it easier to send out newsletters and such.

I know it’s possible but I just don’t know if anyone had a certain website they used or what.

Wow. I didn’t know that dynamic QR codes existed. I was all ready to call you a blithering fool for even suggesting such a thing. Then I was going to smoke my pipe and quietly chuckle at my own bad self.
However, they apparently do exist. Check out:

I can see changing the QR regularly to tailor the information in it.
But how do you get feedback about who scanned your QR?

i use QR Producer Windows software from http://qrproducer.com to produce secure QR barcodes. Also can create QR codes COMPLETELY OFFLINE. it have built in click-tracking directly linking to google analytics from within the app.

Hmm, I still don’t see how you can tell if someone has scanned your QR…
Certainly you can tell they scanned it if they also go to a URL embedded in it (click tracking), but it might be scanned without someone going to the URL.
So maybe you just meant you can track folks who have gone to the URL in the QR? That makes sense.
