Why was I the chosen one? 46th anniversary. See inside.

Asked by john65pennington (29258points) October 11th, 2011

After 46 years of being married to each other, I have to ask myself why was I the chosen one, for my wife to marry? She could have chosen one of the other five guys, but no, she chose me. I am thankful that she did. We are as happy today as ever before. Question, so what method did my wife use to pick her mate for the rest of her life? I am not fishing for a compliment, just your opinion.

Why not ask her? Then you can tell us.

Congratulations, @john65pennington to you and your wife. She probably chose you because she feels the same way about you choosing her as you do about her choosing you. It was love.

Congratulations to you!
I wouldn’t know, I think I’m still young to answer. But I guess it has to do with feeling. You feel it when it’s right, that sense of comfort.

@john65pennington She lost the bet. You know I’m kidding.I think it’s great that you still think about things like this after 46 years.

It was not a line-up, right? ;-)

That’s an extremely long time. Think about it, did you do anything that won her over compared to the other guys?

Your asking the wrong group of folks. Your wife is the only one that has the answer to this question.

Congratulations! She made a very fine choice indeed. It’s lovely to see you write about her in such warm words. I hope you have something special planned to mark this occasion.

Even though you probably only had a little bit of money back then, you made her feel like a million bucks.

Even though she was probably just and ordinary woman, you made her feel special and beautiful and loved.

Even though the other five guys were probably fine fellows, there was something about you that was more than just fine. It might have been something she couldn’t even explain or put her finger on, but she knew that she couldn’t live without you.

And maybe, just maybe, she had the foresight to be able to look into the future and even though she knew what a wonderful man you were, at the time, she also had the special ability to know what a wonderful man you would become.

Yeah, she took a gamble, but you know what? She won the jackpot!

Congratulations to you and your wife : )
