Is there a way to find out who the original artist is for images posted on Tumblr?

I’ve seen a few random artistic images on Tumblr that go back to the original Tumblr page that posted them, BUT there isn’t any info on WHO took the picture and my messages inquiring about the source have so far gone unanswered. Is there another way to indentify image Authorship? There was no watermark or signature- and when I right-clicked on “properties” for the image it read tumblr(and a bunch of numbers) and had that days date.
