What is wrong with Joe Biden's imitation of a call center?

Truth is, in a high percentage of my own experiences, he got it pretty much right. What is the problem?

I don’t see anything wrong with imitating an accent—any accent—as long as it isn’t to mock the person’s speech or ethnicity. Are we supposed to pretend that everyone speaks alike?
