Happy Birthday. Because it would annoy everyone.

My mother has given me an envelope with her instructions, and she told me it includes musical selections.

I haven’t any preference. I’ll be dead. I’ll let my surviving loved-ones choose whatever will bring them comfort, if they want a funeral at all.

“Outward Bound” by Tom Paxton. To me, it is the perfect good-bye song.

When I die, I want everyone to party instead of mourning, so maybe they should play Party in the USA and Red Solo Cup.

Going Underground by The Jam.

Free Bird.

Our family prefers a ‘celebration of life’ rather than funerals, no churches and funeral homes for us.

@Seek_Kolinahr apparently that’s the most popular choice in the UK.

And for good reason! ^_^

None, I’m not going to die. Ever.

Linus and Lucy
The theme song from the Peanuts cartoons

It’s undeniably catchy without being a party song. I want people to bob their head a bit, smile, and appreciate life.

I am also considering Keep Me in your Heart for a While by Warren Zevon
It is one of the most moving songs I know.

The Gypsy Rover
My (late) mom loved this version of the song and she told me it reminded her of me. Don’t know why, but it doesn’t matter.

Isn’t Life Strange by the Moody Blues
Some Lyrics:

Isn’t life strange
A turn of the page
Can read like before
Can we ask for more?
Each day passes by
How hard man will try?
The sea will not wait
You know it makes me want to cry, cry, cry -

This is How We Walk on the Moon by Arthur Russell, because to me it is the most hopeful and beautiful song in the world.

Either Party Up by Prince, or
Baby I’m a Star by Prince & the Revolution.

@KNOWITALL Good choice. I played that at my dog’s “funeral.” I personally want Avenge Sevenfold’s So Far Away played at mine.

I want a conga line, dancing to ‘What Time Is It ?’ by the Spin Doctors. My sister has promised to lead it, and everyone will be instructed to throw their hands in the air together when the “HEY” part comes just before the guitar break.

My brother will then shoot my ashes out of a cannon.

(Get it right, yooz two….I may be watching…...you never know….)
