How do I untag a picture on Face Book?

Asked by Dutchess_III (46849points) February 23rd, 2013

I asked there, but no one is responding. I went to tag my grandson, went a little too fast, and named him as some totally unknown person! Can’t figure out how to untag the boy.

I don’t know if this has been changed, but I am pretty sure a while back I made that mistake and on my laptop when I was on the regular site I could just click an X next to the name to remove it. I might be remembering wrong.

There may be an “remove” link next to the tag beneath the photo. Either that or an “edit tags” link.

Go to the picture. At the bottom right of the photo will be: Tag Photo… Options… Share.

Click Options. You will be given several choices, one of which is Report/Remove Tag. Click that.

Just check “I want to untag myself”, assuming that this is a friend’s photo, and you don’t want to report them for having done something wrong.

Click Continue. And you’re done.
