Why do you use Fluther?

Right now I use it out of habit and to keep in touch with friends.

For distraction from my problems; for another point of view; for a smile or a laugh; for curiosity about people and circumstances; to find out what I think when asked a question I wouldn’t usually ask myself; to get to know people in the community a little; to help me solved a problem; to share my own experience; and to abet my own tendency to procrastinate..

Because I am working on my gaming rig and I don’t have a fucking clue what I’m doing.

In addition to the all reasons @Hawaii_Jake and @Sunny2 expressed, I use Fluther to exercise my writing muscle.

@Jeruba and others keep an eye on my grammar and punctuation.

Intellectual curiosity and companionship

I admit, whatever original intent this place has, or had, I’m not really here for. I do learn a lot on here, and sometimes it can help with my problems. I also made good friends here. But I stay for the fun factor, and just to chill.

My reasons and the way I use Fluther is so much like yours, I see no point in reiterating them.

It is a welcome experience to be able to connect with others that are around the World.
It is always nice to hear different perspectives on problems etc
A great way to expand understanding on how the peoples of the World thinks on a day to day basis.
I enjoy the interaction.

In no particular order:
(a) work avoidance
(b) to get answers to questions that Google or Wikipedia can’t give me
(c) this
(d) to answer others’ questions that I am exposed to while doing (a) – (c)

I use Fluther for procrastination, information, and the friendships I’ve formed here.

It’s the big, loud, weird family I never had. Consider yourself adopted.

I really do think that it offers opportunity for personal growth. Often while reading answers I discover perspectives that would never occur to me on my own. I try not to have a closed mind on any subject although I do have strong opinions in specific areas, but nothing is written in stone! Just earlier today, I learned the true meaning of life in one tidy sentence! Now where else could that happen.

And Jake, because of people like you who have taught me much more than you’ll ever know! Cheers matey.

Something to do.

I like to answer questions, and I like the caliber of the community.

It makes me feel connected to something jelly like. ;)

Besides I love textuality.

I don’t use Fluther. I let Fluther use me.

I use fluther to practice interacting with people in the real world… I also use fluther instead of interacting… I am trying to be a successful shut in until I master the art of being an independent adult.

I feel some kinda kinship here on the writing and expression side of things. There’s honesty and intelligence here and I like being around it.

To debate on a site with higher standards than most, and to give a few topics a more balanced view on such a site. Sometimes as well I just enjoy exchanging words with certain types of people that I know I never could in my area since most of those folks are like very redneckity.

Work avoidance usually. I tend to use Fluther for minute breaks while working.

Diversion, amusement, enlightenment. With a side order of addiction.

Most people on here amuse me with their answers. I use it for avoiding things in life that I have no power over.

I forget.

Because the people in my real life (with very few exceptions) aren’t nearly as interesting as you folks.

I am a new comer. I use it to improve my writing skill and English vocabulary with native America. Morever, I can get a lot of useful information from some helpful people here. It is wonderful!

I use Fluther since day one because is not a ignorance pool (like ask yahoo) where people just want to troll around and throw answers without thinking first. I admire how serious people worry to answer real questions with real answers and how great the community is for develope any topic. “for real answers from real people theres Fluther.” new slogan (i want my 50%) LOL
