Power demand for Samsung RSG257AA?

Asked by whiteroseman (301points) May 26th, 2013

I have bought one of the above items (a side-by-side fridge freezer)
whilst living in the US and intend to ship it back to the UK with me. It does not appear to be able to run on 240V so I need the power demand so I can source a suitable transformer. I cannot find the info anywhere in the documentation or online.

Well 120v outlets are 15 watt (standard ones) and the ones with a T shaped prong are 30 amps, so any step down transformer that meets whichever of those you need should be fine

@XOIIO that would be 15 Amp.

@whiteroseman that’s going to be an expensive way to run a fridge, through a transformer.
Consider selling the unit in the U.S. and getting a new one in the U.K..
Between shipping and the constant inefficiency of using a 120V machine on 240V you’d probably cover costs of replacing within a couple years.

Thanks for the answers so far. I am getting the shipping paid for by my company and it is also the same price in £ as it is in $ so I will cover quite a few years of inefficiency before it costs me anything!

I am looking for a transformer rating such as this item:
