Do you ever eat weird food combinations?

Asked by Katniss (6656points) June 10th, 2013 from iPhone

Ever since I was a kid I’ve eaten weird food combinations.

I made myself a sandwich for lunch. It was leftover pork, pickles, mustard, and peanut butter. lol I was delicious!

It made me wonder what odd food combination other people eat?
Or am I just weird? lol

I do it all the time. It called eating WIGR (Whatever is getting rotten.)

I will open the fridge and lunch will be WIRG. Today I had 4 blue cheese stuffed green olives sliced into 4 rings each.. I put them on a piece of bread that was getting stale and placed a slice of American cheese over them. Then I sprinkled with fresh chives from the garden and old paprika that I am trying to use up. On the other piece of stale bread I poured a bit of the canola oil that packed the olives. I made it into a sandwich and popped it into the microwave for 15 seconds and 15 seconds.
The bread softened up, and the cheese started to melt. It was delicious.
I washed it all down with 2 cups of green tea.

I’m a vegetarian. Most people think that everything I eat is weird.

One of my favorite weird combos is feta cheese and orange marmalade, with chopped walnuts, rolled up in a tortilla. It’s heavenly.

Like @Kardamom, I’m a vegetarian. My all-time favorite sandwich—peanut butter and banana on toasted cranberry bread. Please don’t make a yucky-face; the combination is outstanding.

@SadieMartinPaul Have never had it on cranberry bread, sound great. Do you put butter on it too?

SadieMartinPaul's avatar

@rojo. One of my local bakeries sells cranberry bread. It’s heavenly. The bread has some chopped pecans, too.

Well, I put non-dairy vegan spread on the outside of the sandwich, place it in a small pan, and lightly grill/heat it. Does that count as butter? :-)

Actually, that’s sounds phenomenal!

Of course all of us are eating right now, anticipating @poisonantidote’s return. What else can we do?

I like to mix cottage cheese with black pepper and sunflower kernels. It sounds weird, but it’s quite tasty! Better than that other weird combination of cottage cheese and peaches. :D

@WillWorkForChocolate “Better than that other weird combination of cottage cheese and peaches.”

You need to be more specific. You’re really describing cottage cheese and canned, cling peaches in heavy syrup. Yuck!

Yeah. Yuck is right! But my husband loves it.
