When do you give up and say I don't give a crap?

Nah, nothing special, just a thread for those that screwed up this week.

Night, I’m hitting the hay. But if you screwed up I’d like to hear it and how you fixed it.
Okay Gail, I’ll hang in there for a bit.

Nah. I have left the building.

(You keep alluding to a catastrophe without the details. How about being specific?)

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

Let me think about it. But it’s not just me so I don’t have carte blanche.

You can always PM me. I’m the guy sitting quietly behind you in the armchair taking notes.

I know of no one who has never blundered. Even Milo has put his paw in it from time to time.

I have never said that you don’t care.

Thanks, I’m going to hit the hay and try some more tomorrow.

Never, mistakes are just life’s way of letting you know that nobody’s perfect, never stop learning.

I fuck up all the time. I take pride in it. I think admitting you are wrong is cooler than being right. And I am totally serious about that. Admit you are wrong and you instantly have my respect.

I’ve always said that balance is key, self deprecation & being comfortable admitting your own wrongdoings is imperative, but I pity those who feel unable to allow themselves credit where it’s due. Know your faults but recognise & embrace the good, then you can’t go far wrong.

I have a hard time “giving up” when I feel strongly about something and for the most part, I admire people who stand by what they said. Of course, stubborn and ignorant is a deadly combination.

@johnpowell I was wrong.

Rather frequently, lately. Then, never at the right times either. Can’t manage to make life work the way I want it to and can’t let it ride as it is.

All the above is not based on any one specific, gigantic screw-up, just the accumulation of little things. Little things that should make life bearable, but being screwed with makes life an irritant.

New day, any better for you?

I don’t screw up very much, I don’t think. I can give up on other people, though. When the same stupid shit keeps happening over and over and over. Then I will say “I don’t care any more.”

When I start to realize that the reward may not likely offset the suffering. This varies for me though, so I have no universal thought pattern here.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

Thanks, I’m working on it. I hope it wasn’t as bad as I thought.

Drama queen ~

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@ucme Thanks, relevant and needed. As was the laugh.

@Adirondackwannabe Laughter is the best medicine, unless you got bit by a rattlesnake.
Then i’d recommend anti-venom :)
