Is stuffed fish a good idea for a Christmas dinner?

Asked by Eggie (5921points) December 24th, 2013

I know the traditional thing is ham and turkey, or a plump Christmas goose, but how about something different? Will I be silly for trying a stuffed bass this year for dinner?

Why would that be silly, silly? lol
That actually sounds really good. We’re mixing it up a little bit this year as well. We’re having prime rib rather than ham.
Let us know how your bass turns out. :0)

Ok, well any ideas on what to stuff it with?

Here’s the conventional and classic method. And here’s a more sophisticated and exotic but deilcious looking version.

I was thinking of potato

You could also try:
Mushrooms
Or
Herbs and potatoes
Or
Shellfish
Or
You can stuff it with whatever you damn well please. Recipes be damned! lol

How about stuffed iguana?

Katniss's avatar

That’s just gross

Lol, I was joking ok.

Use the potatoes as good neighbors on the plate, not as stuffing.

The shellfish stuffing recipe is so labor-intensive that simply reading it makes me need to lie down and doze for a while.

Screw it, why go to so much work? Stuff the fish with some sweet crab and call it good.

It sounds wonderful! I wanna try some!

In Maryland we like to stuff striped bass with crab imperial. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/chesapeake-bay-stuffed-rockfish/

The fish won’t enjoy it.

But as a dish for a big dinner, why not? Traditions are made to me flouted.
