Who would be a good person to ask for a recommendation?

Asked by tianalovesyou (711points) January 31st, 2014

I am a high school student applying for a small part time job. (Jamba Juice) They ask for someone’s information to contact as a reference. Who would be appropriate to put down? Would a teacher work?

A teacher, a supervisor at a volunteer job you’ve done, I’ve used pastors and youth leaders before… any non-relative that can vouch for you.

If the teacher can speak to your work habits.

Make sure you get permission to use them as a reference first.

Most if you ask a teacher they will be willing to write you a recommendation letter so you can include it with your application. Usually jobs ask for 3 references.

Business acquaintances, teachers, academic advisors, customers, vendors, athletic coach etc. can make good references.
