For those who knew of him: Which was your favourite Rik Mayall character?

Asked by ucme (45421points) June 10th, 2014

Rik sadly died yesterday, at just 56, he went far too soon & as my comedy hero growing up, it hit me harder than I thought it would.
Widespread tributes have come from the likes of Stephen Fry, Kevin Spacey, Eric Idle, Ricky Gervais & of course, his long time friend & working partner Ade Edmonson. So I felt like asking this as my own little tribute to one of Britain’s finest comedy talents & much loved master of his trade.
Loads to choose from, The Young ones, Comic Strip Presents, The New Statesman, Bottom, Blackadder.
I don’t expect many posts, most of you have probably never heard of him, but that’s okay, it feels right anyway.

Listen Snotface, all his characters were brilliant. Who can choose? I’m sad to see him go. I watched Drop Dead Fred countless times with my children. I loved listening to him read George’s Marvellous Medicine too.

@Earthbound_Misfit Snotface hey? Shut your face you complete & utter bastard!!
Pure Mayall reading GMM, he just got through shooting Crackanory & his wife is considering putting it on air on Channel 4 over here as a fitting tribute to him.

I’ll look forward to that. He’s left us with lots to laugh about.

Thought I might be the only one here to remember Filthy Rich & Catflap.
Best one when he dressed as a Nolan sister & went in their shower, manic fun.
