Not to be predictable but – “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

I don’t think all of these are ‘good’ films, but I’m a child so I love Christmas films and anything Christmas!

I like Elf. It’s silly and I think I’m a bit like Buddy.
I like Miracle on 34th Street.
Gremlins is a good one.
I like The Santa Clause.
I have The Nightmare before Christmas set to record.
I really like The Snowman thing with the music and flying snowman too.

I did a search the other day for Christmas TV and I was horribly disappointed by the lack of material available for me to luxuriate in its sappiness.

I always forget that Die Hard is a Christmas movie ;) I guess I would have to go with Home Alone, Christmas Vacation, and A Christmas Story. Those are the movies my family and I would always watch together (Miracle on 34th Street became more of a Thanksgiving movie for us).

#2 for “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

In my 53 years I’ve only watched it 2–4 times. I’m not a holiday movie kinda guy.

I remember being surprised as a kid that the Bing Crosby movie “Holiday Inn” movie was highly entertaining.

The Family Stone. Funny, poignant, sad, modern, cozy.

This question is asked every year on Fluther and my answer is always the same: the 1951 British version of A Christmas Carol is my all-time fave. Yes, there are several really good versions that have come out since, but in my humble opinion this one is best of them. And to anyone who disagrees I say “Bah! Humbug!” ;-)

The musical version of a Christmas Carol, Scrooge with Albert Finney (from 1970) is my all time favorite.

I like life, life likes me…

When it come to Xmas classix, it don’t get no better than Santa Claus Conquers the Martians! What could be more heartwarming than the kiddies on Mars finally getting some presents? ;-p

SPOILER ALERT: them stupid Marshins didn’t know that they already had their own Santa! ;-o

A Christmas Story

I love Jean Shepherds (also the author) priceless VoiceOver as well as all the iconic moments topped off by Christmas dinner at the local Chinese restaurant.

Fortunately Turner runs it on a 24 hr. loop so I get my fill every year.

Interestingly enough, someone bought the original house where it was filmed and it is open for visitors. You can see the fishnet-clad leg lamp shining in the window :)
