What junk food do you put on your grocery list every week?

Asked by MooCows (3216points) July 2nd, 2016

I myself do not eat any junk for BUT my husband
loves his junk food and doesn’t think a thing about
it spoiling his health. Every week I buy a big bag
of peanut M&M’s, 3 boxes of Mike and Ikes, a pkg
of Oreo cookies, red licorice, banana pop sicles, and
dry coffee creamer and Little Debbies. He grew up
poor and never had goodies as a child so i guess he
is making up for it! They do not tempt me in the least.
What junk do you buy for yourself or your s/o?

I never put junk food on my list. If I happen to break down and buy some, it is impulse.

Yogurt and Green Onion Kettle Chips. And the Winco sells Handi-Snacks in bulk. They literally sell them buy the pound and I buy by the kilo.

Cheddar Blast Goldfish, for my daughter.

Australian licorice…yum.

We aren’t consistent about junk food at all. One week it might be a bag of potato chips, another tortilla chips. My husband bought Oreos for the first time in 3 month today. I bought white sandwich bread (rare for me) and he told me it’s unhealthy. Lol. It’s not unusual for me to not have any “junk food.” Although, enough of my regular food is unhealthy.

Chocolate hobnobs, Doritos, and Wotsits.

Nada. If I buy junk food, it’s usually one coke or one candy bar on the way out of the grocery.

Junk foods like sweets and sodas rarely make it onto my shopping list—they’re simply impulse items that, alas, wind up far too often in my shopping cart.

Like @Pachy, Chocolate isn’t on my list ever but it somehow makes its way into my cart. Other than that, there is no junk food that I buy regularly, things like potato chips are just a once in a while indulgence.

I try not to buy it and I try not to eat it but I am no saint. I will buy it impulsively, either if I see something on sale or if I see something that looks interesting. It may make it into my house in the form of the remainder of a dessert from a restaurant meal.

Last night, I just threw out a piece of chocolate cake from a restaurant party from a week and a half ago.

Right now, there’s ice cream in the freezer. Last night I made tapioca pudding because I had a lot of milk I had to use up, so I didn’t touch the ice cream. Today we’re going to a party and tomorrow we’re going to a barbecue, so I have a feeling some cake will make it back into our refrigerator.

I tend toward the sweet rather than the salty. I like the salty just as much as the sweet, but I am not one to keep potato chips or Doritos in the house. I’m also not a big cookie eater. I tend to go toward cold, creamy or soft.

I’ll rarely have them on the shopping list (partly since I barely ever make shopping lists) but chips (or something equally salty and crispy) often make it home with me when I go shopping.

My wife is a dietitian and does all the shopping. But if I could I’ld put goldfish, corn chips and chocolate chip cookies on the list.
