Big and tall people , do you have a story about not having clothes that fit?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24473points) March 28th, 2017

I will start. In grade 10 my growth spurt left me without a t-shirt for a month and had to don a winter jacket in the spring in class. No one seemed to care. I only got clothes once a year. On the positive side I am waring the same shoes since my university days because it’s hard to find shoes that fit. I have 2 pairs of shoes and one pair of dress shoes for if I get a job at McDonald’s. One pair hurts to walk in and is an emergency pair if my shoes gets damaged or lost.

My mom was working a low wage as a hotel room cleaner 300 miles away. My dad was broke and we were living in slum housing. We couldn’t find anything that fit. I was 6’ 5”

Story of my life. I outgrew, or destroyed all my clothes. I’m currently 6’5, 300 lbs. I need ,at least, a XXL long and tall shirt. Even then it may shrink up. My shoulders make all regular XXLs show the bottom of my stomach. I have to get physical with people in my profession, so I frequently rip my clothing. I usually will kill a pair of shoes in 3–6 months. I have to special order them online. I wear a 14 EEEE. Pants are a bit easier to find, but I rip them up quickly…
I usually rip my socks after only a few times wearing them.

It’s hard to find a vehicle too. Usually I have to buy a full size truck, or a car I can lay the seats all the way back in.

I’m constantly hitting my damn head (even after all these years) and have to duck a little, or walk sideways through most doorways. I’ve broken many chairs in my life. I usually try to analyze a chair before I sit in it.
