Is there any traffic signal that causes confusion/conflict between drivers and and pedistrians?

I’m referring to the electric one. Walking man lights up, with how many seconds left, or the open hand lights up, similar to this one:

Flashing red arrow confused me.

Ok. Maybe you are confusing the flashing red “do not turn yet” arrow that’s for cars with the cross walk sign that’s for pedestrians. I have to go now, but I’ll try to find a photo of what I mean.

Here’s a red arrow traffic signal for cars.

It it’s flashing or not, it still means “don’t turn left”. It’s not meant for pedestrians.

@snowberry Thanks but where is the hand that says stop?

Ah. Some intersections don’t have crossing signals for pedestrians, and certainly if there is no crosswalk. The only ones there are for cars.

Try calling City Hall and ask them why there is no crossing light for pedestrians on a particular corner. Sometimes all it takes is a phone call to get something straightened out. Let us know what happens.
