How do you brush up on your general knowledge?

Asked by ANef_is_Enuf (26839points) May 4th, 2017

I went out with friends one night this past week and we participated in a trivia game. I have been out of school for 17 years and I’ve realized that I have forgotten so much and I would like to brush up on trivia and general information. What’s the best way to do that? Do you ever do that?
Also, am I the only one who can’t post questions from the desktop site? I let the mods know, but I can’t remember if it’s a known issue.

Regarding the problem with questions, that has been a topic of discussion on Meta recently.

As for the first and more vital question, all I do is read, question and pay attention. To everything I can.

Read books. Almanacs. Encyclopedias.

I’m a walking encyclopedia of trivia as it is, I just read and research and browse interesting topics. I just learned how to turn on my neighbors complicated watering system this morning, fuck…that was an ordeal. lol

Well, maybe I just don’t have the mind for trivia, because I read a ton and I don’t remember shit. Hah.

I just retain all this random pointless crap & bring it out whenever the need arises.
Seriously, really specific stuff I never had any particular interest in but the knowledge somehow got filed away in a dark corner of my brain.
