Have you developed any good habits lately?

Asked by rockfan (14627points) July 31st, 2017 from iPhone

Or quit a bad habit?

Today I’m celebrating 8 years of not drinking soda, I used to drink 8 or 9 sodas a week. Now if only I could give up my coffee addiction…

I have a habit of worrying. I’ve been worrying about a situation for a long time now, and I recently gave up the worry. The situation is very real, but I’ve stopped worrying about it. This is huge for me.

I’ve been working on some good habits, and using the first of the month as a starting point.

I started tracking my eating and expenses May 1st and have stuck with it so far.
I started working out three times a week on June 1st, that’s been good.
Nothing for July really. I wanted to be less hurried with my kids, but it’s hard to quantify and track, so just try to keep it in mind.
I’m thinking about taking 1 hour a day for a larger project starting August 1st and seeing how it turns out.

At this rate, maybe I’ll work up to stop worrying about something by 2019. Congrats @Hawaii_Jake!

No. if anything , I’m trying to overcome extreme grouchiness from 6 weeks straight and counting of really hot weather. My swear-o-meter is off the charts lately. haha
Once we get some cool weather I hope to get back to more exercise but right now I don’t give a fuck. I do what I have to do then lounge in the AC and swear a lot. LOL

No, and in fact I can’t break my brain- and soul-fouling habit of constantly watching (and commenting on) the increasingly horrible train wreck that is the Trump “administration.”

I gave up diet soda about a month ago when I read there could be a connection between it and increased possibility of Alzheimer’s. It wasn’t as hard as I thought although I loved my can of Diet Cherry Coke per day. I drink some flavored seltzer now which satisfies.

Only recently I’ve gotten into the habit of saying “This is being lazy” to myself, whenever I start to walk away from some small task, which I’m going to do at some point anyway (vacuuming out the car, cleaning my shoes, or changing the A/C filter).

It’s like kicking myself in the pants. I do the damn thing right now, then think….

“There…..was that so hard….??”

I pay attention to my calories and stuff in order to lose weight. It’s slowly becoming a habit now. I even lost two kilograms.

Other than that, no.

Aw, hells no. I’m old enough that holding on to the bad habits is hard enough, I’d like to cultivate an extra unattractive vice or two.

I start to become picky with news. I question every piece of news I hear from word of mouth, especially those kinds of news that are too shocking to be true. I don’t question the news deliverers but I secretly find proof. The same goes for offers that are too good to be true. I look for known red flag before jumping into anything.

Yes, I’ve developed a good habit thank you so much for asking.

When I glossed over the rules here I noticed that vile calumny and garden variety vituperative obloquy were considered naughty, to say nothing of poor grammar and inapt spelling.

Ergo, I’m determined to politely hunt down spelling mistakes that some others might consider minuscule.

…............You had me at obloquy, but lost me at “politely hunt down”.
