Can anyone fake this kind of fear convincingly? (See 45 second video in the details.)

Killer whales close in on two kids swimming in the bay..

The way the child screams “Mama,” chills my blood and brings tears to my eyes. I’ve never heard that tone before. Can that be faked? Can even the best actors recreate it as realistically as the the real thing?

A good actor could make it sound like that. It wasn’t alll that blood curdling. I suspect your being a grandmother made you more sensitive to it.

The two observers didn’t seem overly concerned, just cautious.

I think if an actor remembers an actual experience of being terrified, they may be able to re-conjure that (method acting) and express actual terror.

I guess being a mother and a grandmother would make me more attuned to the nuance, but wouldn’t a father and a grandfather hear it too?
