Why not? This is a free market, capitalist society. We can put our money wherever we want. If people want to crowdfund the writing of porn games, that’s fine.

Suppose someone wanted to crowdfund the printing of a new bible. I totally disagree with religion and the bible. But I would never tell someone that couldn’t crowdfund it. It’s not my business.

Morality plays no role here. This is business.

You make good points, @elbanditoroso, but your last sentence makes me sad. And, if that is true, isn’t it the same for politics?

@Patty_Melt two responses:

1) morality is not defined and has no standards. It is based on personal view (and often religious teaching) but there is not an agreed-upon definition of morality. I imagine that you and I have two totally opposite views of what is moral and what is not. So how can we assign morality to business?

2) I see a lot of parallels between business and politics – politicians are trying to sell you on a philosophy (and sell themselves as your leaders). They’re just as much in the sales and marketing business as a company that makes diapers.

Politicians are actually more dangerous that businesses. Because politicians have, collectively, the power to pass laws that take away your freedoms. Or impose their version of morality on your life and mine. I would be much happier if politics stuck to governing and passing laws to run the country, and didn’t try and impose their theocratic morality on the citizenry./

Actually, I agree with most of what you said.

Funny you picked diaper companies for your comparison. I have heard it said that politicians are like diapers, because both are full of S_i_ and need to be changed.

Only 1.6 million??? Lol

I’m indifferent to the idea. It harms no one. Money thrown away. What else is new?

Politicians become dangerous when they stop behaving in a moral way. There are examples of this throughout history. I don’t want government imposing morality on us other than through the legal system but we should impose morality on those who represent us by voting them out if they mess up.
Crowdsourcing porn games sounds like a waste of money.
