What is the difference between manic depression and bipolar depression?

Manic depression is the older term for what is now called bipolar disorder.

What @janbb said. Bipolar depression isn’t really a term that’s used though. It’s bipolar disorder and, yeah, “manic depression” is just an older term for it.
