Does the iPhone ever clear its cache on it's own?

I know you can manually clear it out, but I'm wonder if it does it own its own at any point. For example if the cache expires, etc.

yes it does
actually the iPhone has minimal cache - for example if you are on safari and click back , the page reloads instead of getting it from the cache
