Going to try out for the California Highway Patrol early next year. I have trouble with my right elbow, and considering maybe a small surgery. Would this disqualify me?

California Highway Patrol is the WORST about hiring people with any chance of having an injury. I had a friend who made it all the way to the physical and they did a back x ray and noticed something that never ever bothered him and disqualified him. He ended up being a city cop. I doubt the CHP will even consider you with a disability claim.
I think there may be a hiring freeze right now anyway, California is in financial trouble right now.
