I personally wouldn’t.

There are no longer Secret Fashion Police. If you look in the mirror and like what you see, go for it. (I’m not mad about gold shoes, but what do I know?)

I am by no means a fashion maven (quit snickering Gimme), but I like silver better with black.

How broken up is the black and white? Mostly black? Mostly white? Solid color pieces or patterned?

For the most part, I’m with gail on this one. I don’t believe in wearing or not wearing what other people say is okay. I personally can’t picture it, but I definitely think it could be pulled off, depending on the details of the outfit. I also don’t tend to like gold in the first place, but I know that doesn’t mean something can’t actually work.

I wouldn’t do the shoes, but bright gold matching jewelry glows next to black.
It also depends a lot on your personal aesthetic. I dress in a very refined bohemian style, and would wear gold with black if it were intended to be the main focus of the outfit. If the outfit is loud, play down the accessories.

But a little black dress, multiple gorgeous gold necklaces and gold bracelets/rings can be stunning. No gold shoes, though. Ew.

im not a big fan of gold either… its not actually me whos wearing the outfit.. its a friend.. who asked me… but i really have no idea… pretty much anything is acceptable now right?
i havent even seen the outfit so i can’t describe it, sorry. i told her go for it, she can pull off anything.. just thought for my own curiousity id “tap the collective” haha

I think that I would tell her… If she goes with the gold shoes, don’t overdo the gold jewelry. If the shoes are a bold gold (heh), they need to be the focus piece. So hopefully the outfit is pretty simple and in my personal opinion, mostly black. Gold jewelry could definitely look cool with it, as long as it’s kind of on the dainty side.

A quick notion of how I’d do black and gold.
Lets pretend I could wear those shoes.

@delirium: That’s exactly the kind of outfit I was imagining. The more I think about it, I can not see the black and white together, along with the gold. My brain just won’t let me.

I think a small defining vest that was white could be added.

And in general I think it could be pulled off with a much older vintage look.

youll all be pleased to know, the outfit is black for the most part :)

Personally, I think if it’s all gold and not mixed with another metal, like silver, it’s just fine.

I think it would look great.

I think gold will look better with black outfits. As the color stands out against black.
