How much does a bounty hunter make?

Asked by LKidKyle1985 (6599points) December 16th, 2008

I was just wondering, how much does the average bounty hunter make, and how much does the good bounty hunters make?

I should add, I saw some things on the net saying a pretty big range between 10k and 60k but I was wondering if anyone had any more insight than that

Well there really is not a “salary” per say it’s more about how much each particular bounty is and how many bounties you fulfill.

I think you should take a look into Cowboy Beebop. It may be fictional, but it’s a pretty accurate depiction of that kind of life. If I may quote for a minute;

“I’d let to meet the guy who said bounty hunting was glamorous. I’d punch him right in the face.”

lol, actually im a big fan of cowboy bebop, which is what made me ask the question. I know they get paid per bounty, but i guess I wonder what the average bounty hunter can pull in in a years worth of hunting

Like I tried to say there really is no average per say. Every bounty hunter is different some may only do a few high paying jobs while other can do smaller jobs and make a lot less. The range of money can probably extend from $10,000 to a few hundred thousand a year.

an ex-military friend of mine is a bounty hunter and works with bondsmen. He does pretty good for himself. Has a couple of cars, house, boat. He’s not rich but I bet he’s pulling about $70,000 a year. Might I add that he also has people that work for him.

Well i really don’t know but Dog the bounty hunter clearly makes enough to get his chest waxed every week!

judochop He’s pulling ALOT more than $70,000 if he has a couple of cars, a house, and a boat. Not sure how you can be “not” rich and have all that stuff.

@hypeserver
I am not going to say how much I make but it is not $70,000 and I own two cars, two motorcycles a few nice bikes and a truck. They are all at my house. Money management does not mean you have to be rich to own something.
