Why did the Orioles wear 'Black Sox' uniforms in their match last night with the Red Sox?

Asked by erik (63points) September 7th, 2007

very confused about this – I didn’t think they had anything to do with the Black Sox scandal. Is there some other meaning behind those uniforms?

They weren’t referencing the Chicago White Sox scandal; they were honoring a Negro League team called the Black Sox.
