Is it possible to find a futon mattress that's good for your back?

They tend to tilt in right where your lumbar needs support. Seems like some of the more expensive ones might jump that hurdle? The base support is lacking so the mattress must make up for it.

Are you talking about when it is used as a bed, or as a couch?

As a couch primarily. Thanks.

I’ve seen 2 different kinds of futon- One has a back that folds down to make a bed. The other kind has arms that fold down to make a bed. I have one of the latter, and I find it has great back support. I guess it just depends on the futon. Mine has a cushion on the back that stays there, even when you put the arms down.
