What movie did I see, part of, 12 years ago?

It was about two sons bringing their fiances home for a short stay and to meet their aging and wealthy mother. Friction rapidly developed between the fiances and the mother but the sons could not recognize what was going on, and became increasingly irritated with their fiances.

I don’t recall if it was B&W, but I think it had some good performances.

I can’t really add much. Just that the mother was quite subtle, especially, as I recall, as acting surprised, hurt, or unaware. At the same time each couple experience severe friction and inability to convince the other on the validity of their perceptions about the mother. I think one couple eventually decided to break up, and the other not to.

I’m not very good with names, even of great movie talents that I recognize and enjoy, sorry.
