Is anyone going to Bonnaroo this year or have you been in the past?

Asked by tennesseejac (3778points) February 3rd, 2009

Are you pumped about the line up ?
*or what do you think about these big music festivals?
Bonnaroo is 30 minutes from my back door so I have no reason to ever miss it (this will be my 7th year)

It really, really does look awesome. I’m hoping the Mile High Music Festival can hold a candle to it.

Holy shit! How have I never heard of this? I doubt the wife and kids would be into it but I would love to go. Unfortunately I think we’ll be in Italy this June or I would definitely try and make it there.

@jac: Lurve for you just for the information.

The line up looks awesome! My friends have gone in the past and have always taken road trips there and I’m always so sad to have missed.

This is some good stuff! And don’t even get me started on Coachella. Dammit, I really want to go to that one! I love big music festivals, but I never go, as I would never go to one by myself and I don’t drive (yet).

I have to find new friends. My friends are mostly my age, but have spouses and kids, they aren’t much into music anymore and generally believe they are too old to go to such things.

My friend was looking at tickets last night. I have to admit, I don’t really understand the appeal to some extent (I like live music, but concerts are always too loud for me). Or at least, the appeal for the cost. But I’ve been known to pay for food experiences that she would scoff at, so I can’t scoff at her music experiences.

I really would like to go. I just have money that has more important places to be used unfortunately.

@EmpressPixie the good thing about Bonnaroo is there is tons of space to spread out, so if you think its too loud you can move back as far as you want.

I love the music aspect, but it is so much more than that. I always tell people it is an experience of a lifetime. It feels like you are in a different world with badass music playing constantly

I have every intention of going this year. Haven’t bought my tix yet, but plan to in the very near future. I’m still reeling over the cancellation of Langerado (seriously bummed out about that) and I would give ANYTHING to go to Coachella, but I don’t think I can swing Coachella this year. Bonnarroo however, HERE I COME!
