Have you tried the "Zeno Acne Treatment Device?"?

Asked by juniper (1910points) February 17th, 2009

So there is this bizarre product on the market now called the Zeno Acne Treatment Device. It ostensibly clears pimples with a blast of intense heat.

Sounds creepy (and possibly unhealthy) to me. I’ve researched it a lot and have just come up with the usual spectrum of complaints and praise.

I’m wondering: have you used this thing? Is it worthless or amazing?

Given that the company’s website uses a photo of a model with retouched, flawless skin to advertise the product, I’d be skeptical, too. Just how much heat can you get out of something that runs on batteries? From the reviews, the people who seem to like it, use it for minor solitary skin eruptions. That, doesn’t exactly fit the description of “acne” to me.

My daughter had issues with acne – her dermatologist said it didn’t work for moderate or severe acne. He wasn’t pushing an expensive treatment, either – so I don’t think it was to keep us from spending money, elsewhere. He said the ads were pretty misleading, because it needed to be used on minor breakouts. Save the money!
