what do I need to use to get a satin fiinish on a chair I recently refinished?

Asked by raven (11points) November 21st, 2006
I stripped a chair and found the color to match the other chairs by using Min-was stain & seal but the finish is not as nice. Is there another product that is not a polyurethane that I can acheive this with.

I am a decorative painter & have finished many pieces of furniture. Diamond Varathane, Satin , water-based is what I usually use. To make it very rich looking, put on 2 coats (dry compltely btwn coats), sanding lightly between coats, then a final coat. Muralsplus.com has a wealth of info on this
