DO PLEASE Let Me Know How WATCHMEN Is!
I bought the collection of WATCHMEN graphic novels in a single binding, and am almost done. Any of you WATCHMEN fans that have already seen the film, let me know how the film compares to the novel, and how you liked the film on its own merit.

Saw Gene Shallot’s review this morning. He didn’t like it. He said it was 2 hours and 40 minutes too long (the entire length of the movie) and that the author of the novels made them take his name off of the movie since the movie was so “different”.
@Mr_M Gene Shallot is a prang.
either way the movie kicks ass and Shallot can suck it…
saw it. It was pretty ok. Too long and they changed the ending. But pretty ok.
I want to watch it, but it’s “Rated R”, and that’s too bad. :(
i heard it’s a hard R too. As in like, boobies and axes to the forehead R.
of course, blue weiners tend to catch the attention of the MPAA
Never trust a critic that’s still breathing, heh!
I would much rather hear from YOU PEOPLE than any dry, superior-minded critic any how. Realizing that films can’t always strictly follow its source material due to a difference in medium, that doesn’t necessitate the film will be a bust. Case in point, Peter Jackson’s awesome trilogy The LORD Of The RINGS, which often deviated from the book, yet when you examine the whys and wherefores for the changes, they all made sense and made a better movie.
I’m hoping WATCHMEN will carry on the spirit of the graphic novel; the idea of a band of nearly anti-heroes was intriguing to me, especially where RORSHACH is concerned.
This evening I heard a review from another critic. I forget his name. He has a movie review show on Saturdays with a female critic. He felt it was too long and too complicated for anyone but devout readers to understand.
That doesn’t mean WE won’t like it.
I read the comic, and just watched the DVD. I thought the movie was okay, but not great. Same problems the comic had. Rorshach was easily the coolest of them.
I probably will watch it one or two times more, but it won’t be in the repetitive viewing section.
So, who watches the Watchmen?
