Is anyone on fluther a modern homesteader?

I’ve done quite a bit and have many of the skills- I plan to do a lot more when we move to our 10-acre property in WA state. I can milk a goat, birth and raise goat kids, raise chickens, bake bread, can, make soap, grow fruits and vegetables, find many wild foods, repair lots of things, etc. It’s more of a hobby than a necessity, but I enjoy having the skills.

In Texas, your home of residence is usually afforded homestead exemption. Cuts a break on some property taxes and some additional protections.

So, yah, I guess I am.
