Is there a way to use a second mic with GarageBand without using a mixer?

I was messing around with garageband over the weekend trying to make a podcast. I was wondering if there was a way to add a second mic without using a mixer

You may be able to use your usb ports. But i’m not sure.

This will let you input audio into a USB port. But I don’t know if GarageBand will see both inputs simultaneously.
