What are your opinions on the new Sims 3 game?

Asked by nayeight (3353points) June 10th, 2009 from iPhone

For those who have played it, does it live up to your expectations? How does it compare to the Sims 2?

I ask this because I just bought it and I am extremely disappointed. It runs very slow on my pc, I dont like the way the sims look, and the gameplay has become a little complicated. I was just wondering if there’s anyone out there that is satisfied with the game? I am NOT.

One of my daughter’s bought it, and had to upgrade her computer to get a reasonable response time. I have not seen it in action, but I heard her complaining a couple of days ago. Luckily my son-in-law owns a computer and software business. I looked at the first version and it seemed to be too much effort for too little pleasure. I’ll stick to strategy games.

anyone who likes the Sims series might like the Harvest Moon series.

In general I like the changes in gameplay and the engine so far (of course I’m a bit dismayed at the lack of bonus content, but that’s what you get when coming from a full Sims 2 installation), however I was really disappointed at the lack of content in the game. I am not a fan of the fact that they have set up an online store and will sell you back content for as little as $1 a piece. That’s way way too much in my opinion, I would pay a penny for that at best. I would not say I’m satisfied with the game.

Got it for the iphone personally, its ok. I really would like to see friends playing and intereact with them like in second life. Maybe thats wishful thinking though.

I bought it for my daughter (late birthday present) and she said the same thing – it’s okay, nothing special and is SOOOOO slow on her PC. So, for the $60 – with guide – it wasn’t worth the wait or the price.

My daughter has it and loves it. We recently got a new computer with a lot of power and ram so the game runs fine.

i haven’t bought it yet, but mod the sims is excellent for this kind of thing. most of the folks on there are pretty hardcore simmers, and they all have different reasons they love sims, so you’ll get a lot of a variation in opinion. (:

i’ve heard a lot of good things, even from people who were originally incredibly skeptical about the new game, but some bad things too. lots of glitches, but most of them seem pretty amusing to be honest.
