What 802.11n spec do I want to be looking for when shopping for a 802.11n router?

Asked by justn (1382points) June 19th, 2009

Ever since 802.11n was introduced I have been pretty confused with the different specs, like draft-n and pre-n. Is the 802.11n spec finalized? What spec do I want to be looking for when shopping for a router?

No it is not finalized. But all of them are mostly the same and it shouldn’t matter if it says draft or pre-, that is just what that company chose to call it. They are all compatible, unless the spec changes drastically in the future.

Good to know, and now I am no longer confused. Thanks!
