If you’re asking this question from an iPhone, then it should already be free for you. Only iPod touch owners (2nd gen. only, I think) have to buy it.

It’s a software update, not a hardware upgrade. Just plug your iPhone in, and it will find the update.

mmmmmm…......I have never plugged my phone into my computer. My son is coming over tomorrow for father’s day, I’ll have him do it. He’ll know what to do.
